The secret spread recipe was born in Jordan through my mother’s hands. It is a recipe that has been around in my family for generations. My mother introduced it to us when we were kids as a healthy alternative to sweet spreads such as peanut butters, chocolate spreads and sugar filled spreads. I remember she would prepare it for our school lunches, snacking with fruits and she made it a part of our diet.

I never really understood how she allowed us to have this DELICIOUS sweet spread, because as kids we were rarely allowed to eat sweet food. Then I asked, and she said: “Dates help in your body development and gives you stronger teeth” I was shocked how good it tastes, and I definitely didn’t mind eating it whenever I can.

One day my mom told me, this is a secret that I passed to you, and when the time is right, you have the social responsibility to share it with the world, because everyone deserves to eat healthy and ENJOY their food.

I realized that what goes in your body defines your entire life being, which made the secret spread a part of my healthy diet. During my college years at the University of Southern California (USC), I would have it during my long hours of classes and studying. When I felt I was losing focus or getting tired, I took a spoonful of my spread and got back my focus and energy. Then before a workout, I would spread it on a banana to enjoy before surviving a CrossFit class.
I then began my journey as a professional career woman, and with my crazy travel schedule, I’d pack it with me for an immunity boost, concentration and ease of digestion. Believe it or not, I NEVER for once lived without it, it was just a part of my lifestyle.

Then, on my mom’s 10 year anniversary of her passing away, I remembered what she said: “When the time is right, you have the social responsibility to share the secret spread with the world” and in her memory, it is time to begin my journey.
